Flowing Wells Junior High

Good day to everyone! Let’s enjoy learning together this school year.

You are joining the Flowing Wells Support Staff Team. We wanted to share helpful tools for KPod that you are welcome to visit anytime!

KPOD 101

The K5 & K6 classrooms.

Being a KPOD Paraprofessional is very fun, choatic, and very very rewarding. The students have a range of abilites, so you will have to do a lot of learning yourself!

The students safety and support is what comes first. This is a TEAM based job, so collaboration is a must!

Intensive Resource

IR students are those who typically have severe/multiple disabilities. They need the most support and as a para, you would be doing 1 on 1 support or facilitating peer activities.

Integrated Life Skills (ILS)

ILS students are those who typically have mild to moderate disabilities. You will see more Specific Learning Disabilites and help with a lot of life skills activities (cooking, cleaning, shopping).

Schedules can change sometimes depending on outside circumstances, but this is the norm! At FWJH- the days alternate schedules for BLUE and GOLD days for the entire school. On blue days in K-Pod, our kids will go to eleactives (art or computers) durning 4th period. You are going to be responsible for a group of students in those classrooms and help adapt their lessons! Also on Blue Days, Gen Ed students will come in our class as “Buddies” to provide inclusion for our kids.

This is a great ARTICLE in supporting student advocacy for themselves. Learning how to help them can teach them how to help themselves!
